I am a Postdoctoral Associate at New York University Abu Dhabi. My research unfolds in two interlinked strands: one delineating macro-level disparities in labor market access and job quality and unpacking the meso-level organizational processes that sustain them, and another developing theoretical frameworks of Islamophobia—and experimentally testing how those biases operate within workplace settings.
Before joining NYU Abu Dhabi, I earned a PhD in Advanced Quantitative Methods at the University of Bristol, funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC). I also hold an MSc in Comparative Social Policy from the University of Oxford (funded by the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies), an MSc in Political Theory from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), and a BSc (Hons.) in Economics from Brunel University.
In addition to my academic training, I hold a Diploma in Islamic Studies and am currently pursuing a Shahādah ‘Ālimiyyah (Licence in Islamic Scholarship).
Prior to joining academia, I worked in the private sector in the UK and the UAE. Overall, I has over 14 years of strategic advisory and research experience, including providing C-suite guidance to multinational corporations.
I am trilingual in English, Arabic, and French.
